Top 5 Aiken Resturants

Whether you’re a local, in town for a horse show, or in town for the whole winter – we all gotta eat! Today, I’m sharing with you my five favorite restaurants in South Carolina horse country, Aiken.

#1 – Grumpy’s Sports Pup

Although one of the most low key spots on my list, Grumpy’s Sports Pub has my heart. Whether you want a burger, to watch the game, the best wings in town, or just a cold beer – Grumpy’s is your place. Not joking about the best wings in town … Grumpy’s actually has the best wings ever. Anywhere. The food is outstanding, and the staff are superb. Grumpy’s will never disappoint you, I promise!

#2 – The Wilcox

On a completely different note, if you’re looking for the most luxurious place in town, have a meal at the Wilcox hotel. Perfect for a romantic night out, or just when you’re feeling boujee. Yeah – I said it. The Wilcox is one of the oldest, most prestigious places in town, and it comes with a price tag and waiting list. Make sure to book well in advance, and wear your nicest dress. Pro Tip – if you’re trying to work your way up in the Aiken horse world, the “Aiken Elites” have drinks at the bar on Tuesday nights. 😉 You never know who you might run in to!

#3 – Track Kitchen

Looking for a more low key way to get to know Aiken’s finest? Have breakfast at the Track Kitchen. Located at the Aiken Training Track, you’ll dine along side trainers, owners, jockeys, and good old Aiken restidents. Enjoy the sunrise while you watch Aiken’s homebreds breeze the track, and enjoy a home cooked, southern breakfast at the Track Kitchen when you’re done. The Track Kitchen is open from October through March, 7 am – 12 pm, seven days a week.

#4 – Whiskey Alley

Appropriately named, if you’re looking for whiskey, head to The Alley and to Whiskey Alley! Okay, just kidding – they’re known for much more than their drinks! ( Great drinking spot though if that’s what you’re in to. ) Whisky Alley has a rotating, ever changing menu of high end, fine cuisine from all cultures. If you don’t believe me, just check out their Instagram – they’re always posting drool worthy photos. Whiskey Alley has something for just about everyone, and you’ll love the staff and atmosphere. Be sure to make a reservation!

#5 – Betsy’s Round the Corner

Last, but certainly not least – one of my favorite all arounders, Betsy’s Round the Corner. Located literally, right around the corner in Downtown Aiken, you can’t miss it! Betsy’s is an old school diner with food that keeps everyone coming back for more. My favorite Betsy’s meal is brunch (and mimosas!) , but like I said – it’s the perfect all arounder! Every meal here is superb! Betsy’s Round the Corner is locally owned, and you feel right at home when eating here. It’s even dog friendly if you eat outside!
