    Shoo Fly Leggins’ First Impressions

I’ve never really been a hug fly boot gal. I used them on my mare years and years ago and never could get them to stay on, so I gave up. It wasn’t until recently that I purchased another pair. Many of you know that I’ve been battling scratches and photodermatitis with my gelding West this summer. A great friend of mine ( Jennifer Rubin <3 ) told me that they were also struggling, but had seen great improvement since buying the Shoo Fly Leggins. So, in a last ditch effort, I bought a pair. I purchased from a retailer on Amazon, and they cost me about $57. I ordered…

    I met California Chrome!

What a DAY! My mom and I had the pleasure of taking the “California Chrome Experience” at his home in Kentucky. If you don’t keep up with racing, California Chrome is an eight year old thoroughbred stallion, currently worth over $30m. He earned $14 million during his time on the track, including a win in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Dubai World Cup. He was named 2014 and 2016 Horse of The Year. Now retired, Chrome will live out his days at his home Taylor Made farm in the heart of Kentucky. He enjoys his days in his paddock, making babies, and eating ONLY Mrs. Pasture’s cookies. The whole experience…

25 Questions with the Horse Boyfriend

Those of you who have followed me for a while have probably seen me talk about my boyfriend Zach at one time or another. I would describe Zach as the Ultimate Horse Boyfriend. (We need to make him a trophy or something, frfr.) He and I took a trip to Tryon International last weekend, which sparked this post. We went by ourselves, of course West and Wells came, but that meant that we were solo all weekend in caring for West. He was so good. Cleaning West’s stall without being asked, rinsing buckets, filling hay bags, hooking/unhooking my trailer, running around with tack, nightcheck, the whole nine yards. Zach has…
